The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The supporters of SIMvergüenzas booed when Sletteenge was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 2 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ralph Nielans didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arne Heeris showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luis Ortiz, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Ortiz in the 5th minute of play forced Sletteenge's goalkeeper Arne Heeris to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arne Heeris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hondo Ziguenza in the 7th minute of the match. Arne Heeris took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Ortiz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SIMvergüenzas's Luis Ortiz got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ralph Nielans's late challenge caught a SIMvergüenzas's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ralph Nielans helped the player get up and apologised. Ralph Nielans kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Sletteenge's zone, Luis Ortiz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Arne Heeris came out of the goal and Luis Ortiz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 27 minutes into the match, Sletteenge's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Ortiz came free, but Arne Heeris reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 0-1 became the score in the 31st minute when Luis Ortiz elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Sletteenge's Arne Heeris played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hondo Ziguenza in the 33rd minute of play. Alvar Fabelo hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. The long shot by Espen Tao in the 37th minute really tested Miguel Teresa's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Enol Litago in the 39th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arne Heeris saved Sletteenge from getting behind. Enol Litago received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Arne Heeris tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Luis Ortiz in the 47th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Arne Heeris prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Hondo Ziguenza who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Arne Heeris when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Miki Byklint kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Arne Heeris made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Ortiz in the 56th minute of play. 57 minutes had been played when some careless play by Sletteenge's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Berriotxoa Galnares was slow to take the kick. During this time SIMvergüenzas's players had a chance to rest. Hondo Ziguenza was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. Miguel Teresa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Miki Byklint in the 59th minute of the match. Arne Heeris showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Enol Litago in the 62nd minute of the match. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Sletteenge reached it. In the 67thth minute of the game Luis Ortiz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sletteenge's Arne Heeris was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Enol Litago managed to get in a good position for a shot. SIMvergüenzas's supporters rose to their feet, but Enol Litago was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Arne Heeris breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Luis Ortiz had several of the Sletteenge's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 72 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-2 score and a disappointed Arne Heeris as he didn't even see the shot coming. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luis Ortiz in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Arne Heeris saved Sletteenge from getting behind. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing SIMvergüenzas would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
