After a defensive mix-up in Jarametais's zone, Benê Favoretto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rodolfo Damião came out of the goal and Benê Favoretto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 36th minute, Walmir Freitas fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. Vicente Fantini made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jair Messias in the 41st minute. 44 minutes into the match, Dragões Barbudos FC's goalkeeper Vicente Fantini had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Walmir Freitas. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Walmir Freitas made a kick off. Jair Messias recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Jair Messias blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Vicente Fantini having to make a save. Benê Favoretto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jarametais made a substitution. João Toledo replaced Ciro Linhares. Jarametais's André Luiz Vidal was substituted for Cacá Dantas. After 68 minutes of play, Jarametais's Jair Messias made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vicente Fantini was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 73rd minute Benê Favoretto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodolfo Damião saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
