The crowd rose to their feet as Arye Suryoye's Ian Lundgren slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Rômulo Camargo. That made the score 1-0 after 18 minutes of play. Jens Duset took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pedro Luiz Souto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joacim Ekblom did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 2-0 to the left of a surprised Rômulo Camargo 29 minutes into the match. 35 minutes into the game, Joacim Ekblom cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Rômulo Camargo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Kjell Ros's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Rômulo Camargo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. Joacim Ekblom came free with the goalkeeper in the 46th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Rômulo Camargo could save by the left post. After 47 played minutes Arye Suryoye got a freekick which was hit by Jerry Kilström. Jens Duset made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Pedro Luiz Souto in the 48th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Pedro Luiz Souto to strike the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Kjell Ros had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Rômulo Camargo. Barra EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Kjell Ros was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-0. In the 60th match minute, Barra EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edinho Carvalho to maneuver through the defense. Barra EC's Rômulo Camargo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joacim Ekblom in the 91st minute of play. Through an outstanding action, after 93 minutes, Jens Duset successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Joacim Ekblom sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arye Suryoye's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
