UD ZAS's Rey Cerezuela played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Blanco Lambarida in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Blanco Lambarida made a precise shot to the right of Rey Cerezuela. UD ZAS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Cuero Socobio kicked well hit freekick during the 17th minute of the match. Rey Cerezuela stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Blanco Lambarida's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. In the 23rd minute Texeira Magdalena shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zuriko Lagala saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 25 minutes into the match, Blanco Lambarida notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of UD ZAS's Rey Cerezuela. Rey Cerezuela was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 28 minutes into the game, Blanco Lambarida cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Rey Cerezuela was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 31 minutes into the game, Texeira Magdalena was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. UD ZAS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Inter de Guayaquil FC the free kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Blanco Lambarida in the 32nd minute of play forced UD ZAS's goalkeeper Rey Cerezuela to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 39 played minutes Inter de Guayaquil FC got a freekick which was hit by Vicente Depino. In the 43rd minute Blanco Lambarida shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rey Cerezuela saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 47 played minutes Inter de Guayaquil FC got a freekick which was hit by Xusto Vada. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-5.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Checa Lloreda to make the kick off. 55 minutes into the match, UD ZAS's goal looked a bit too open when Blanco Lambarida came free, but Rey Cerezuela reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rey Cerezuela was out of position in the 64 minute of play, and Blanco Lambarida capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Blanco Lambarida really showed his touch with that goal: 0-6. 67 minutes into the game, Blanco Lambarida cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-7. Rey Cerezuela was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Blanco Lambarida struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Rey Cerezuela didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Inter de Guayaquil FC. After 77 played minutes Inter de Guayaquil FC got a freekick which was hit by Vicente Depino. After 78 played minutes, UD ZAS's Ugaitz Camara shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Zuriko Lagala came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in UD ZAS reached it. In the 79th minute, Blanco Lambarida made a precise shot to the right of Rey Cerezuela. UD ZAS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-8. 88 minutes into the match, UD ZAS's goalkeeper Rey Cerezuela had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Blanco Lambarida. The audience was convinced that Blanco Lambarida's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Rey Cerezuela was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. With an all-out effort, Inter de Guayaquil FC's Rey Cerezuela threw himself towards the right post 92 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Vicente Depino, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The audience thought a goal was coming when Blanco Lambarida got free with Rey Cerezuela in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Xurde Argoños's late challenge caught a UD ZAS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Xurde Argoños helped the player get up and apologised. In the 95th minute, Xurde Argoños hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match was over Inter de Guayaquil FC could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than UD ZAS throughout the match.
