René Higuita made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ondrej Babčan in the 23rd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lucio Soin got free with Binjamin Provoost in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. FC Gladiators Milošová were furious when Rudolf Fekiač was red carded, 43 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. Binjamin Provoost had in the 45thth minute some difficulties stopping Serafin Froylan's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his right side, but he still managed to hold the ball Binjamin Provoost was out of position in the 45 minute of play, and Serafin Froylan capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Serafin Froylan really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ondrej Babčan to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 51st minute, Abelardo Ledesma managed to get in a good position for a shot. Kaplan's supporters rose to their feet, but Abelardo Ledesma was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Binjamin Provoost breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lucio Soin in the 54th minute of play forced FC Gladiators Milošová's goalkeeper Binjamin Provoost to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but René Higuita showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With a little luck, Kaplan's René Higuita got control of the ball when Ondrej Babčan tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 80 minutes of play, Kaplan's Abelardo Ledesma made it 2-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. The Kaplan fans cheered their team off the field, for while FC Gladiators Milošová had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
