In the 89th minute of the match Vascogoianiense FC got a corner. Sagene IF's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Carlos Eduardo Sergipano ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Carlos Eduardo Sergipano almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Sagene IF's Olav Westad did a great save. An unexpectedly hard shot by João Pirani in the 94th minute of play forced Sagene IF's goalkeeper Olav Westad to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When the final whistle sounded Vascogoianiense FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Sagene IF.
