After having played for 6 minutes, Santos Montel managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Atlético Rio Cuarto's supporters crossed their fingers, but Santos Montel was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Red Bull Club's Robert Manevski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Santos Montel in the 7th minute of play. Atlético Rio Cuarto were awarded a corner in the 8th minute after Red Bull Club's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Santos Montel took the corner. A well-hit corner resulted in Enzo Godoy heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 16th match minute, Red Bull Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lirim Atanasovski to maneuver through the defense. Lirim Atanasovski hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Atanas Živkov fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonzalo Regis having to interfere. In the 31st minute Ile Manojlovski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gonzalo Regis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 32 minutes in the game, Atanas Živkov fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Gonzalo Regis having to interfere. Ile Manojlovskis short, quick shot in the 33rdth minute got Gonzalo Regis to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 36th minute, Jaime Guillem got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Ile Manojlovski managed to get in a good position for a shot. Red Bull Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Ile Manojlovski was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gonzalo Regis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

A collision led to Atlético Rio Cuarto getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Alvaro Pabla hit a great ball. If Ile Manojlovski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 93rd minute, Atlético Rio Cuarto's Omar Lovagnini seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Omar Lovagnini the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Atlético Rio Cuarto protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Omar Lovagnini had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. In the 92nd minute, one of Atlético Rio Cuarto:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Atlético Rio Cuarto.
