Spectators: 7518 (Terracing: 5639, Seating: 1729, VIP seats: 150) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Santos Montel started the match with the kick off. Omar Lovagnini kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. A sloppy throw-in by Santos Montel in the 11th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Talleres's Francisco Odilon. In the 12th minute of the match Francisco Odilon sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gonzalo Regis skillfully saved the ball. When Alejo Jerardo fell near the penalty area in the 19th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Talleres's protests and gave Alejo Jerardo a yellow card for diving instead. After 21 minutes, Marcelo Roldan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atlético Rio Cuarto and the Talleres players grew even worse after the yellow card. Marcelo Roldan hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Talleres's Alejo Jerardo got a free kick in the 22nd minute. 24 minutes into the game, Santos Montel lined in a short shot 1-0 behind a frustrated Albino Nofre. Atlético Rio Cuarto's Gonzalo Regis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Adolfo Diaz in the 27th minute of play. In the 27th minute, Adolfo Diaz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Gonzalo Regis was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Luciano Gipuzkoa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gonzalo Regis having to interfere. Gonzalo Regis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luciano Gipuzkoa in the 35th minute of the match. In the 37th minute Santos Montel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Albino Nofre saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 47 minutes into the game, Talleres's Ariel Burko nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gonzalo Regis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2.

54 minutes into the match, Atlético Rio Cuarto's goalkeeper Gonzalo Regis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Ariel Burko. In the 62nd minute, Luciano Gipuzkoa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gonzalo Regis was out of position in the 64 minute of play, and Adolfo Diaz capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Adolfo Diaz really showed his touch with that goal: 2-3. With a little luck, Atlético Rio Cuarto's Gonzalo Regis got control of the ball when Ariel Burko tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jaime Guillem might have been able to make a better finish in the 77th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Albino Nofre. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jaime Guillem ran back to his position shaking his head. 81 minutes into the game, Guido Burni was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Atlético Rio Cuarto's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Talleres the free kick. A collision led to Atlético Rio Cuarto getting a freekick after 81 minutes play. Guido Burni hit a great ball. Gonzalo Regis was a little too slow when Fernando Laurgain got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 82nd minute. The score was now 2-4. After 84 played minutes Atlético Rio Cuarto got a freekick which was hit by Marcelo Roldan. In the 87th minute, Jaime Guillem hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
