But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Leonel Rafe couldn't finish the play. In the 10th match minute, La Cosa Nostra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hector Cordarell to maneuver through the defense. Leonel Rafe received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Luisão Seco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 17th minute, Hector Cordarell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luisão Seco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hector Cordarell, who was totally free with the ball in the 19th minute. After 20 minutes, Guaberto Chabier mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the La Cosa Nostra and the Mexilhão F. C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 20th match minute, La Cosa Nostra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guaberto Chabier to maneuver through the defense. In the 26th minute of the match Almir Loureiro shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Francisco Berdoi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Willian Rosa hit a great ball. 45 minutes into the game, Timoteo Luken was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. La Cosa Nostra's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mexilhão F. C. the free kick. The supporters of Mexilhão F. C. booed when La Cosa Nostra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Timoteo Luken didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Almir Loureiro made the kick off in the second half. Hector Cordarell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. If Leonel Rafe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Mexilhão F. C. booed when La Cosa Nostra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artemio Urritz didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a little luck, La Cosa Nostra's Francisco Berdoi got control of the ball when Jean de Moraes tried to sneak it across the goal line. 72 minutes into the match, Leonel Rafe had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Luisão Seco. Mexilhão F. C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leonel Rafe was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. In the 75th match minute, La Cosa Nostra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Guaberto Chabier to maneuver through the defense. In the 84th minute of the match Baldomero Jatsu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Luisão Seco skillfully saved the ball. If Leonel Rafe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Casimiro Pacorro blasted a shot towards the goal in the 88th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luisão Seco having to make a save. In the 91st minute, Willian Rosa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Willian Rosa kicked well hit freekick during the 95th minute of the match.
