After some fancy dribbling in the 2nd minute, Horea Mititelu managed to get in a good position for a shot. LIVERPOOL FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Horea Mititelu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Luisão Seco breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 8 minutes into the match, LIVERPOOL FC's Cornel Chiriloaie sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luisão Seco narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Luisão Seco didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LIVERPOOL FC. 18 minutes into the match, Mexilhão F. C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Horea Mititelu came free, but Luisão Seco reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Mexilhão F. C.'s Luisão Seco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cornel Chiriloaie in the 19th minute of play. Dorel Bunescu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jean de Moraes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, LIVERPOOL FC's Robert Horia got a free kick in the 28th minute. Dorel Bunescu acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 29th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Almir Loureiro. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mircea Gheție in the 33rd minute of play forced Mexilhão F. C.'s goalkeeper Luisão Seco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 34th minute, Mexilhão F. C.'s Eliézer Terra ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Dorel Bunescu. Dorel Bunescu yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cornel Chiriloaie during the 37th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 37th match minute, LIVERPOOL FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cornel Chiriloaie to maneuver through the defense. Cornel Chiriloaie kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. Eliézer Terra was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 42nd minute. Mexilhão F. C.'s manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. LIVERPOOL FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 42nd minute, when Eliézer Terra scored to the left of an out of position Dorel Bunescu, making the score, 2-0. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

LIVERPOOL FC made a substitution. Martin Buteanu replaced Horea Mititelu. The wind increased when Almir Loureiro made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Martin Buteanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Luisão Seco saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Almir Loureiro during the 57th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 57 played minutes Mexilhão F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Almir Loureiro. If Martin Buteanu had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Iuri Peixoto's late challenge caught a LIVERPOOL FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Iuri Peixoto helped the player get up and apologised. In the 60th match minute, Mexilhão F. C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Iuri Peixoto to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martin Buteanu in the 64th minute of play forced Mexilhão F. C.'s goalkeeper Luisão Seco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Iuri Peixoto kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. Eliézer Terra fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 69th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dorel Bunescu having to interfere. Willian Rosa kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Luisão Seco came out of the goal in the 73rd minute to try and stop a shot by LIVERPOOL FC's Martin Buteanu. But to his dismay, Martin Buteanu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Mircea Gheție received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Luisão Seco came out and tried to block the shot, but Mircea Gheție slotted it home off the left post making it 2-2 in the 75th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cornel Chiriloaie got free with Luisão Seco in the 79th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 85 minutes into the game, Willian Rosa was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mexilhão F. C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave LIVERPOOL FC the free kick. Willian Rosa hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Dorel Bunescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliézer Terra in the 90th minute of play. Mexilhão F. C. were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing LIVERPOOL FC to leave the ground with a draw.
