The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 6th minute, Remus Papaiani sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and La Cosa Nostra's Francisco Berdoi didn't even have to move. The supporters of LIVERPOOL FC booed when La Cosa Nostra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonel Rafe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Francisco Berdoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horea Mititelu, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in La Cosa Nostra reached it. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

LIVERPOOL FC's Gigi Gheondea was substituted for Ionel Arghirescu. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cornel Chiriloaie stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonel Rafe in the 56th minute of play forced LIVERPOOL FC's goalkeeper Dorel Bunescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Francisco Berdoi showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Cornel Chiriloaie fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Francisco Berdoi having to interfere. In the 65th minute Mircea Gheție shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Berdoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Casimiro Pacorro kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Francisco Berdoi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mircea Gheție in the 74th minute of play. La Cosa Nostra's Francisco Berdoi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mugur Martinaș in the 76th minute of play. In the 89th minute Cornel Chiriloaie shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Francisco Berdoi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Dario Jerano fell near the penalty area in the 92nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored La Cosa Nostra's protests and gave Dario Jerano a yellow card for diving instead.
