PEREBAH FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jean de Moraes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. With 14 minutes on the clock, Afonso Hermes commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. After a rather tough play, PEREBAH FC's Afonso Hermes got a free kick in the 15th minute. After a defensive mix-up in PEREBAH FC's zone, Almir Loureiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amauri Proença came out of the goal and Almir Loureiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Amauri Proença took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Almir Loureiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. João Francisco Mendes received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Amauri Proença came out and tried to block the shot, but João Francisco Mendes slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 26th minute. PEREBAH FC's Amauri Proença played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Almir Loureiro in the 30th minute of play. Diamantino Penha blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Luisão Seco having to make a save. The supporters of PEREBAH FC booed when Mexilhão F. C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iuri Peixoto didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 35th minute, Cássio Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in PEREBAH FC's zone, Almir Loureiro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Amauri Proença came out of the goal and Almir Loureiro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. A collision led to PEREBAH FC getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Cássio Amorim hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Mexilhão F. C. defense, Cássio Amorim kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Luisão Seco. The Mexilhão F. C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Luisão Seco should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Almir Loureiro was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes Mexilhão F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Willian Rosa. After a rather tough play, PEREBAH FC's Cássio Amorim got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After 56 minutes, Diamantino Penha mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the PEREBAH FC and the Mexilhão F. C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 58th minute, Benjamim Freitas reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Luisão Seco. The goal made the score 2-2. Almir Loureiro took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Amauri Proença. Amauri Proença dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-2. In the 70th match minute, PEREBAH FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ernesto de Godoi to maneuver through the defense. Amauri Proença showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jean de Moraes, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. 77 minutes into the match, PEREBAH FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jean de Moraes came free, but Amauri Proença reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luisão Seco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thiago Godoi in the 82nd minute of the match. Gilson Moreno hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. Thiago Godoi could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Luisão Seco made a huge save. In the 92nd minute, one of Mexilhão F. C.:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Mexilhão F. C.. The goalkeeper, Luisão Seco, was totally fooled by PEREBAH FC's Ernesto de Godoi, who 95 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. The second half was just like the first, even and exciting. The match ended in a draw.
