Dewa Cinta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jorge Martxot in the 5th minute. Marcelino Batista hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. If Honorato Salgueiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 12th minute, Benedito Sales hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of FCPorto booed when Academia FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelino Batista didn't get a good kick on the ball. Angel Etxeberri showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Romão Bandeira, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Jorge Martxot in the 25thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Dewa Cinta, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 36th minute, but Dewa Cinta got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving FCPorto hanging dry this time. Nereo Kemen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Dewa Cinta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
The wind increased when Romão Bandeira made the kick off in the second half. When Benedito Sales fell near the penalty area in the 55th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FCPorto's protests and gave Benedito Sales a yellow card for diving instead. After some careless play in the FCPorto defense, Jorge Martxot kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dewa Cinta. The FCPorto fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dewa Cinta should have stopped the shot. After 61 played minutes FCPorto got a freekick which was hit by Zeferino Palma. 63 minutes into the game, Jorge Martxot was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Academia FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave FCPorto the free kick. After a rather tough play, Academia FC's Jorge Martxot got a free kick in the 63rd minute. 66 minutes into the match, FCPorto's goal looked a bit too open when Jorge Martxot came free, but Dewa Cinta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind FCPorto's goalkeeper Dewa Cinta, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Dewa Cinta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nereo Kemen, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Venancio Maxin kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. FCPorto's Dewa Cinta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jorge Martxot in the 87th minute of play. 88 minutes into the match, FCPorto's goal looked a bit too open when Federico Nicholas came free, but Dewa Cinta reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Honorato Salgueiro might have been able to make a better finish in the 91st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Angel Etxeberri. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Honorato Salgueiro ran back to his position shaking his head. Jorge Martxot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dewa Cinta having to interfere. When Nereo Kemen came up free with the goalie in the 99th minute, the Academia FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nereo Kemen couldn't finish the play. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Academia FC fully deserved thier win.
