The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. ΔΓЅΣ∏ ΔLLΔ ∏GΣGG's Tommi Adams proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 4th minute of the match, managed to save ΔΓЅΣ∏ ΔLLΔ ∏GΣGG from getting a goal against them. Bernd Heid hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. After 9th play minutes Iwo Wolicki shot 0-1, a short shot which went by Herbert Good and just under the crossbar into goal. In the 28th minute Julien Marxer shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommi Adams saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernd Heid in the 30th minute of play forced ΔΓЅΣ∏ ΔLLΔ ∏GΣGG's goalkeeper Tommi Adams to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Adam Pollakowski's late challenge caught a ΔΓЅΣ∏ ΔLLΔ ∏GΣGG's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adam Pollakowski helped the player get up and apologised. After 31 played minutes ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ got a freekick which was hit by Adam Pollakowski. If Ernst Cakir had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Etienne Ritzberger received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Tommi Adams tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 37 minutes into the game, Dennis Schulz was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. ΔΓЅΣ∏ ΔLLΔ ∏GΣGG's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ the free kick. Dennis Schulz hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. In the 38th minute Ernst Cakir shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tommi Adams saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 42 played minutes ΔΓЅΣ∏ ΔLLΔ ∏GΣGG got a freekick which was hit by Wolf Eickhaus. Iwo Wolicki received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Herbert Good tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ernst Cakir to make the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bernd Heid in the 51st minute of play forced ΔΓЅΣ∏ ΔLLΔ ∏GΣGG's goalkeeper Tommi Adams to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ getting a freekick after 52 minutes play. Dominik Ritter hit a great ball. After a rather tough play, ΔΓЅΣ∏ ΔLLΔ ∏GΣGG's Iwo Wolicki got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Ernst Cakir struck a weak shot in the 54th minute. Tommi Adams didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ. Dominik Ritter's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tommi Adams read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. In the 57th minute Dennis Schulz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Herbert Good saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ's Ernst Cakir got a good chance for a goal in the 58th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Tommi Adams took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Julien Marxer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Etienne Ritzberger hit a great ball. Herbert Good made a fantastic save in the 63rd minute, when Iwo Wolicki sent off a good shot on target. 68 minutes had been played when some careless play by ΔΓЅΣ∏ ΔLLΔ ∏GΣGG's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Eddy Moser was slow to take the kick. During this time ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ's corner Julien Marxer fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Tommi Adams quite easily take care of the ball. Tommi Adams made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julien Marxer in the 75th minute of play. 81 minutes into the game, Iwo Wolicki recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Herbert Good. Iwo Wolicki showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-2. Dennis Schulz was shown his second yellow card after 85 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to ΔΓЅΣ∏ ΔLLΔ ∏GΣGG getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Dennis Schulz hit a great ball. In a very dangerous position, a player in ΔΓЅΣ∏ ΔLLΔ ∏GΣGG fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 86th minute. Penalty! The referee gave ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ a penalty, 88 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Eddy Moser, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of ΔΓЅΣ∏ ΔLLΔ ∏GΣGG's Tommi Adams. 2-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Julien Marxer managed to get in a good position for a shot. ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ's supporters rose to their feet, but Julien Marxer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tommi Adams breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. A collision led to ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ getting a freekick after 93 minutes play. Bernd Heid hit a great ball. The supporters of ΔΓЅΣ∏ ΔLLΔ ∏GΣGG booed when ꜰᴄ ꜱᴄʜᴇʟʟᴇɴʙᴇʀɢ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bernd Heid didn't get a good kick on the ball. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
