After 10 minutes, Adolfo Halat mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Talcampeón FC and the Florida Gulf Coast players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 10th match minute, Talcampeón FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Adolfo Halat to maneuver through the defense. Carlos Alberto Villa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Fabio Jerico, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Florida Gulf Coast's Constantino Seguinus got a free kick in the 15th minute. Carlos Alberto Villa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fabio Jerico, who was totally free with the ball in the 20th minute. Lucio Geofredo made a fantastic save in the 22nd minute, when Apolo Larrañaga sent off a good shot on target. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Tanio Lezaeta in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lucio Geofredo saved Florida Gulf Coast from getting behind. Talcampeón FC's Carlos Alberto Villa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fabio Jerico in the 27th minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Aurelio Erruki in the 28th minute of play forced Talcampeón FC's goalkeeper Carlos Alberto Villa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 31 played minutes Florida Gulf Coast got a freekick which was hit by Fabio Jerico. With his leg Lucio Geofredo managed to avoid a goal in the 34thth minute, when Talcampeón FC's Tanio Lezaeta fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Tanio Lezaeta struck a weak shot in the 37th minute. Lucio Geofredo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Talcampeón FC. With a little luck, Florida Gulf Coast's Lucio Geofredo got control of the ball when Tanio Lezaeta tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lucio Geofredo made a fantastic save in the 40th minute, when Apolo Larrañaga sent off a good shot on target. Flavio Lauren kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. Lucio Geofredo stood somewhat misplaced when Apolo Larrañaga came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 46 minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Tanio Lezaeta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Lucio Geofredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tanio Lezaeta kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. When Flavio Lauren came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Florida Gulf Coast fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Flavio Lauren couldn't finish the play. In the 73rd match minute, Talcampeón FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by José Francisco Maffey to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, Talcampeón FC's Carlos Alberto Villa got control of the ball when Aurelio Erruki tried to sneak it across the goal line. Carlos Alberto Villa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Flavio Lauren, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. In the 88th minute, Nicanor Oliveiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Nicanor Oliveiro was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 92 minutes had been played. If Jacinto Cross had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 95 played minutes Talcampeón FC got a freekick which was hit by Rómulo Ventura. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Talcampeón FC had won after a very even match.
