Thanks to some nice moves Aurelio Erruki could shoot a difficult shot in the 5th minute, which Ismael de Carvalho however easily saved by the left post. Florida Gulf Coast's Nestor Inko got a good chance for a goal in the 11th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Florida Gulf Coast defense, Hílton Alagoano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lucio Geofredo. The Florida Gulf Coast fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lucio Geofredo should have stopped the shot. A collision led to S.E. Cachoeirinha getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Lauro Moura hit a great ball. Hélder Proença charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Hélder Proença the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Florida Gulf Coast's Flavio Lauren was substituted for Nestor Inko. The supporters of Florida Gulf Coast booed when S.E. Cachoeirinha was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Hélder Proença didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ismael de Carvalho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Aurelio Erruki, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. A collision led to S.E. Cachoeirinha getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Reginaldo Teixeira hit a great ball. Benigno Gartzen kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. 35 minutes into the game, Fabio Jerico cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Ismael de Carvalho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Aurelio Erruki scored 2-1 in the 38th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Ismael de Carvalho, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Aurelio Erruki came free with the goalkeeper in the 43rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ismael de Carvalho could save by the left post. After a rather tough play, Florida Gulf Coast's Leonardo Dominix got a free kick in the 46th minute. Lauro Moura took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 47th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Lucio Geofredo. Florida Gulf Coast's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Reginaldo Teixeira made a kick off. The audience was convinced that Aurelio Erruki's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ismael de Carvalho was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. Ismael de Carvalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Flavio Lauren, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fabinho Vinhas hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Cachoeirinha's Ismael de Carvalho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aurelio Erruki in the 70th minute of play. Ismael de Carvalho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Aurelio Erruki's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. After a defensive mix-up in S.E. Cachoeirinha's zone, Flavio Lauren stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ismael de Carvalho came out of the goal and Flavio Lauren tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aurelio Erruki sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 86 minutes of play, Florida Gulf Coast's Aurelio Erruki made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ismael de Carvalho was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ismael de Carvalho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gordon Nazario, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of S.E. Cachoeirinha booed when Florida Gulf Coast was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 90 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Dominix didn't get a good kick on the ball. Flavio Lauren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Florida Gulf Coast walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
