The Hisingen IK fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Einar Jernberg should have stopped the shot. 11 minutes into the game, Jonas Andreasson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hisingen IK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave R.C. Marseille the free kick. Einar Jernberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Teinturier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of R.C. Marseille booed when Hisingen IK was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Robin Sjöberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Paulo Teinturier managed to get in a good position for a shot. R.C. Marseille's supporters rose to their feet, but Paulo Teinturier was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paulo Teinturier stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hisingen IK's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paulo Teinturier was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edvard Bergren in the 55th minute of play forced R.C. Marseille's goalkeeper Gustave Lechat to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 58th minute, Paulo Teinturier ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Einar Jernberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-5. Hisingen IK's Einar Jernberg proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 61st minute of the match, managed to save Hisingen IK from getting a goal against them. Einar Jernberg took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Teinturier, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 66th minute, Paulo Teinturier ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Einar Jernberg was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-6. In the 69th match minute, Hisingen IK was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jörn Fagrell to maneuver through the defense. 69 minutes into the game, Paulo Teinturier recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Einar Jernberg. Paulo Teinturier showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-7. Einar Jernberg was a little too slow when Paulo Teinturier got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 73rd minute. The score was now 0-8. Paulo Teinturier blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Einar Jernberg having to make a save. Hisingen IK's Einar Jernberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulo Teinturier in the 84th minute of play. In the 90th minute Paulo Teinturier shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Einar Jernberg saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 93 minutes into the game, Luka Le Tiec cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-9. Einar Jernberg was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in.
