Spectators: 7509 (Terracing: 5632, Seating: 1727, VIP seats: 150) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Cezary Pacholewski kicked off to start the match. After 7 played minutes Soczewki Gliwice got a freekick which was hit by Zygmunt Barniszke. After a defensive mix-up in KKS Lech Poznań's zone, Marek Walec stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Roch Brodzki came out of the goal and Marek Walec tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The crowd rose to their feet as KKS Lech Poznań's Marian Wolniewicz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Witomir Kossakowski. That made the score 1-0 after 15 minutes of play. Zbyszek Marchewka blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Roch Brodzki having to make a save. In the 21st minute of the game Juliusz Starogardzki made a throw-in which Roman Barycz played forward. A collision led to Soczewki Gliwice getting a freekick after 22 minutes play. Zygmunt Barniszke hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marian Wolniewicz in the 27th minute of play forced Soczewki Gliwice's goalkeeper Witomir Kossakowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Radomil Murdza hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. If Zbyszek Marchewka had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Tobiasz Ciupierdo hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Marian Wolniewicz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Witomir Kossakowski. That made the score 2-0 in the 44 minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, KKS Lech Poznań's Radomil Murdza sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Witomir Kossakowski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marian Wolniewicz was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marian Wolniewicz in the 54th minute of play forced Soczewki Gliwice's goalkeeper Witomir Kossakowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zygmunt Barniszke hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. Roman Barycz's late challenge caught a KKS Lech Poznań's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Roman Barycz helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Soczewki Gliwice's Roman Barycz got a free kick in the 65th minute. Soczewki Gliwice's Witomir Kossakowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Marian Wolniewicz in the 70th minute of play. When Zygmunt Barniszke fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Soczewki Gliwice's protests and gave Zygmunt Barniszke a yellow card for diving instead. Zygmunt Barniszke hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Roch Brodzki made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zbyszek Marchewka in the 79th minute. 80 minutes had been played when some careless play by KKS Lech Poznań's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Cezary Pacholewski was slow to take the kick. During this time Soczewki Gliwice's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Soczewki Gliwice's Cezary Pacholewski to fire away a dangerous shot which Roch Brodzki despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Witomir Kossakowski stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Marian Wolniewicz's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. After having played for 93 minutes, Edward Golec managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. KKS Lech Poznań's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edward Golec was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the referee ended the match the KKS Lech Poznań players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
