The Corralito AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Raul Hustaz should have stopped the shot. After 22 played minutes NEWELL´S OLD BOYS got a freekick which was hit by Gabriel Toli. 24 minutes into the match, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's goalkeeper Apolo Richie had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Leopoldo Nuxila. In the 26th match minute, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dante Quintan to maneuver through the defense. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Baltasar Rios quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Gerardo Sagrario, made in the 31st minute of the game. Victoriano Evangelista could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Apolo Richie made a huge save. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

Gerardo Sagrario made in the 56th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Dante Quintan. The throw-in from Maximino Terciero in the 59th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Dante Quintan. Gabriel Toli fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Raul Hustaz having to interfere. Danilo Derwin's late challenge caught a NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Danilo Derwin helped the player get up and apologised. In the 68th minute, Reynaldo Sabin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The NEWELL´S OLD BOYS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Raul Hustaz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antonio Mundo in the 72nd minute of play. After a rather tough play, NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's Albano Asteri got a free kick in the 79th minute. Corralito AFC's Raul Hustaz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gabriel Toli in the 86th minute of play. In the 90th minute, Reynaldo Sabin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The NEWELL´S OLD BOYS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. NEWELL´S OLD BOYS's attentive Dante Quintan managed to snatch the ball when Danilo Derwin made a throw-in in the 95th minute of the game. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see Corralito AFC lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
