Dani Rapino made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carmelo Feliz in the 5th minute of play. 10 minutes into the match, Leonides Ofelio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dani Rapino. Real Guayaquil.F.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leonides Ofelio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. 13 minutes into the match, Carmelo Feliz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dani Rapino. Romeo Pedroso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mendoza Vinuesa in the 28th minute of the match. Ramon Rufo kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. The supporters of Real Guayaquil.F.C. booed when Cougars FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Eliseo Remigio didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot by Dannes Asuaga from long distance, 33 minutes into the match, got Romeo Pedroso's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. When Cougars FC's Carmelo Feliz in the 34th minute got a chance for a shot 34th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Real Guayaquil.F.C.'s goalie prevented a goal. Dani Rapino came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Cougars FC's Carmelo Feliz. But to his dismay, Carmelo Feliz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-4. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Real Guayaquil.F.C.'s goalkeeper Dani Rapino, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Erwin Salcines made the kick off in the second half. Carmelo Feliz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 54 minutes into the match, Carmelo Feliz had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Dani Rapino. Romeo Pedroso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erwin Salcines, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Carmelo Feliz kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Dani Rapino. That made the score 1-6 in the 77 minute of play. In the 81st minute, Nunez Salvidor hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 86 minutes into the match, Real Guayaquil.F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Carmelo Feliz came free, but Dani Rapino reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 89th minute, Cougars FC's Justo Tohias dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-7. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Cougars FC eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
