In the 5th match minute, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Costică Ungureanu to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mariusz Piechocki in the 9th minute of play forced FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalkeeper Nechifor Oargă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nechifor Oargă took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Prusinowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 21 minutes into the match, Mariusz Piechocki had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nechifor Oargă. FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mariusz Piechocki was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. Nechifor Oargă stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mariusz Piechocki's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. If Mariusz Piechocki had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Gigi Câmpeanu in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Mariusz Majkowski saved Roman Tim Tfaruk from getting behind. The supporters of FC UNIREA Alba Iulia booed when Roman Tim Tfaruk was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniel Prusinowski didn't get a good kick on the ball. Gavril Niculiță fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mariusz Majkowski having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grzegorz Solak in the 43rd minute of play forced FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalkeeper Nechifor Oargă to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Grzegorz Solak fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nechifor Oargă having to interfere.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gigi Câmpeanu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Roman Tim Tfaruk's Mariusz Majkowski played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gavril Niculiță in the 53rd minute of play. Nechifor Oargă made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Grzegorz Solak in the 55th minute of play. In the 56th minute Roman Tim Tfaruk were awarded a corner. Mariusz Piechocki went to the cornerflag to take it. Roman Tim Tfaruk's Witold Knopek was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Nechifor Oargă in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After 57 minutes, Liviu Sbârcea mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the FC UNIREA Alba Iulia and the Roman Tim Tfaruk players grew even worse after the yellow card. Liviu Sbârcea hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. Cazimir Iorgovan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. Mariusz Majkowski tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mariusz Majkowski showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gigi Câmpeanu in the 69th minute of the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Daniel Prusinowski during the 70th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gigi Câmpeanu in the 71st minute of play forced Roman Tim Tfaruk's goalkeeper Mariusz Majkowski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 72nd minute, Daniel Prusinowski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 73rd minute Gigi Câmpeanu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mariusz Majkowski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 75th minute, Cazimir Iorgovan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 78th minute of the match Costică Ungureanu shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Mariusz Majkowski showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Mariusz Piechocki recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 90 minutes into the match, FC UNIREA Alba Iulia's goalkeeper Nechifor Oargă had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Marcin Wolicki. When the final whistle sounded Roman Tim Tfaruk left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than FC UNIREA Alba Iulia.
