After a rather tough play, Leon Sport Club's Maicon Freire got a free kick in the 6th minute. In the 8thth minute of the game Benedito Domingues who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Leon Sport Club's Joel Umea was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Eusébio Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Rodolfo Quirino made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Ian Queirós sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Leon Sport Club's Beto Massa got a free kick in the 27th minute. After 30 played minutes Caatiba MZC got a freekick which was hit by Laerte da Silva. Caatiba MZC's Rodolfo Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Guilherme Abud in the 35th minute of play. Benedito Domingues's late challenge caught a Leon Sport Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Benedito Domingues helped the player get up and apologised. In the 36th minute, Benedito Domingues hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Caatiba MZC's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Caco Guerra 37 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 1-0. In the 41st minute, Adrianinho Ortiz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Joel Umea came out of the goal in the 43rd minute to try and stop a shot by Caatiba MZC's Adrianinho Ortiz. But to his dismay, Adrianinho Ortiz quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1.

The wind increased when Adrianinho Ortiz made the kick off in the second half. Ian Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Benedito Domingues got free with Joel Umea in the 53rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Joel Umea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eusébio Matorin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dinei Moraes's late challenge caught a Leon Sport Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dinei Moraes helped the player get up and apologised. Caatiba MZC:s Rodolfo Quirino showed great skill when he stopped Dagoberto Severo:s penalty. Caco Guerra scored 2-1 in the 61st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Rodolfo Quirino, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After a defensive mix-up in Leon Sport Club's zone, Adrianinho Ortiz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joel Umea came out of the goal and Adrianinho Ortiz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 70th minute, Ian Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leon Sport Club's supporters rose to their feet, but Ian Queirós was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Rodolfo Quirino breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Eusébio Matorin had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Leon Sport Club's Caco Guerra got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Caatiba MZC's Rodolfo Quirino played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caco Guerra in the 77th minute of play. Joel Umea stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Adrianinho Ortiz's shot from short distance in the 80th minute. In the 81st minute, Ian Queirós left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Leon Sport Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Beto Massa during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Leon Sport Club's Beto Massa got a free kick in the 86th minute. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Caatiba MZC's goalkeeper Rodolfo Quirino, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Leon Sport Club's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
