The referee ignored Santa Maradona's protests and gave Erasmo Berasko a yellow card for diving instead. In the 8th minute, Erasmo Berasko hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 18 minutes into the game, Jeronimo Solustiano was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Maravilla's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Santa Maradona the free kick. Jeronimo Solustiano hit a great freekick 18 minutes into the match. After having played for 23 minutes, Enzo Martinez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Maravilla's supporters crossed their fingers, but Enzo Martinez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Erasmo Berasko kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Luis Santana to strike the kick off in the second half. Maravilla's Agustín Orion proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save Maravilla from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cecilio Ubarna in the 54th minute of play forced Maravilla's goalkeeper Agustín Orion to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 60 played minutes Maravilla got a freekick which was hit by Jeronimo Solustiano. Octavio Txurio received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Agustín Orion tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maravilla's Agustín Orion proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save Maravilla from getting a goal against them. After some fancy dribbling in the 78th minute, Enzo Martinez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Maravilla's supporters rose to their feet, but Enzo Martinez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tor Rosenlund breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Agustín Orion made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Santana in the 81st minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Santa Maradona left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Maravilla.
