The crowd rose to their feet as Bengt-Arne Martinsson kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Gigi Buffon. That made the score 1-0 in the 3 minute of play. When Per Botvidsson fell near the penalty area in the 6th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Blomstermåla BK's protests and gave Per Botvidsson a yellow card for diving instead. Per Botvidsson hit a great freekick 7 minutes into the match. Sakarias Melin took the ball and in the 10 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Gigi Buffon. Gigi Buffon dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. Gigi Buffon made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jörgen Bergfeldt in the 13th minute. After some careless play in the Ajax defense, Dennis Eskilsson kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gigi Buffon. The Ajax fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gigi Buffon should have stopped the shot. 20 minutes into the match, Ajax's goal looked a bit too open when Jörgen Bergfeldt came free, but Gigi Buffon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st match minute, Ajax was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dobromir Klimkiewicz to maneuver through the defense. Gigi Buffon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bengt-Arne Martinsson in the 23rd minute of play. After 23 minutes, Lennart Nilsson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Blomstermåla BK and the Ajax players grew even worse after the yellow card. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tadeusz Lagiewniki during the 30th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 30th minute, Tadeusz Lagiewniki hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gigi Buffon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dennis Eskilsson in the 32nd minute of the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 34 minutes into the game, when Tadeusz Lagiewniki put in a rough tackle. A collision led to Ajax getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Tadeusz Lagiewniki hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Lennart Nilsson managed to get in a good position for a shot. Blomstermåla BK's supporters rose to their feet, but Lennart Nilsson was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gigi Buffon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gigi Buffon came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Blomstermåla BK's Jörgen Bergfeldt. But to his dismay, Jörgen Bergfeldt quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 5-0. A collision led to Blomstermåla BK getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Jörgen Bergfeldt hit a great ball. In the 46th match minute, Ajax was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Boguslaw Wos to maneuver through the defense. In the 46th minute of the match Lennart Nilsson shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gigi Buffon showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jörgen Bergfeldt stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Gigi Buffon showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sakarias Melin in the 53rd minute of the match. Gigi Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aleksander Ekblom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ajax's attentive Dobromir Klimkiewicz managed to snatch the ball when Fritz Jönsson made a throw-in in the 59th minute of the game. Wieslaw Cerocki struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Åke Johnsson didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ajax. Remigiusz Galaska received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Åke Johnsson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gigi Buffon took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Aleksander Ekblom, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 67 minutes into the match, Jörgen Bergfeldt notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Ajax's Gigi Buffon. Gigi Buffon was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Gigi Buffon didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Bengt-Arne Martinsson went, in the 70th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-0 was the resulting score. Blomstermåla BK's Åke Johnsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Blomstermåla BK from getting a goal against them. 83 minutes into the match, Blomstermåla BK's goal looked a bit too open when Walery Nowacki came free, but Åke Johnsson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 83 minutes into the game, Bengt-Arne Martinsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Blomstermåla BK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ajax the free kick. Bengt-Arne Martinsson kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bengt-Arne Martinsson in the 88th minute of play forced Ajax's goalkeeper Gigi Buffon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After some careless play in the Ajax defense, Jörgen Bergfeldt kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gigi Buffon. The Ajax fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gigi Buffon should have stopped the shot. Blomstermåla BK's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
