In the 17th minute, Emanuel Strugure hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Per-Oskar Andberg took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tiberiu Mischie. Tiberiu Mischie dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. When Lucrețiu Manolache fell near the penalty area in the 20th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored FC Politehnica Timisoara's protests and gave Lucrețiu Manolache a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Samurai booed when FC Politehnica Timisoara was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lucrețiu Manolache didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, FC Politehnica Timisoara's Claudiu Azamfirei got a free kick in the 22nd minute. 26 minutes into the match, Emanuel Strugure had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roger Klemensson. Samurai's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emanuel Strugure was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After a rather tough play, FC Politehnica Timisoara's Dorin Lungu got a free kick in the 29th minute. Samurai's Bo Svanström couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 29th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for FC Politehnica Timisoara. In the 32nd minute Per-Oskar Andberg shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tiberiu Mischie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fredrik Bennet hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. If Fredrik Bennet had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, FC Politehnica Timisoara's Claudiu Azamfirei got a free kick in the 44th minute. A collision led to FC Politehnica Timisoara getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Ernest Eftimescu hit a great ball. After the first half FC Politehnica Timisoara were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fredrik Bennet stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, FC Politehnica Timisoara's Costică Josan ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Roger Klemensson. Roger Klemensson yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-3. Tiberiu Mischie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fredrik Bennet in the 58th minute of play. Roger Klemensson was a little too slow when Emanuel Strugure got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 60th minute. The score was now 1-4. In the 65th minute Emanuel Strugure shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roger Klemensson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 70 minutes into the match, Samurai's goal looked a bit too open when Lucrețiu Manolache came free, but Roger Klemensson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 76 minutes into the game, Costică Josan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. FC Politehnica Timisoara's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Samurai the free kick. After a rather tough play, FC Politehnica Timisoara's Costică Josan got a free kick in the 77th minute. Roger Klemensson was a little too slow when Emanuel Strugure got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 80th minute. The score was now 1-5. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nichifor Borogeanu during the 83rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 86 played minutes FC Politehnica Timisoara got a freekick which was hit by Ernest Eftimescu. FC Politehnica Timisoara's Emanuel Strugure got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The Samurai supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching FC Politehnica Timisoara's performance. The match ended with a win for FC Politehnica Timisoara.
