Pedro Neto took the ball and in the 15 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ivo Amaral. Ivo Amaral dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Pedro Neto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivo Amaral having to interfere. In the 23rd minute, Isidoro Rijo made a precise shot to the right of Ivo Amaral. Real Cruzeiro FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-3. Washington Alagoano's late challenge caught a Pinhote FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Washington Alagoano helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Real Cruzeiro FC getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Washington Alagoano hit a great ball. In the 34th minute, Américo Severo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ivo Amaral was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. The corner led to Pinhote FC's Américo Severo getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. Ivo Amaral dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-6. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-6 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Isidoro Rijo made a kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Isidoro Rijo notched a goal, 0-7, to the right of Real Cruzeiro FC's Ivo Amaral. Ivo Amaral was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Isidoro Rijo fell near the penalty area in the 58th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pinhote FC's protests and gave Isidoro Rijo a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Real Cruzeiro FC booed when Pinhote FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 59 match minutes in a wonderful position. Isidoro Rijo didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 61st minute Pedro Neto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivo Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ivo Amaral made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pedro Neto in the 62nd minute. 65 minutes into the game, Américo Severo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ivo Amaral. Ivo Amaral showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zezé Haaland in the 68th minute of the match. Real Cruzeiro FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 75th minute, when Zezé Haaland scored to the left of an out of position Ivo Amaral, making the score, 0-9. In the 79th minute Zezé Haaland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivo Amaral saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adélio Vilas Boas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ivo Amaral having to interfere. After having played for 97 minutes, Adélio Vilas Boas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pinhote FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Adélio Vilas Boas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pinhote FC played a much better game than Real Cruzeiro FC and deserved their victory. The Real Cruzeiro FC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
