Abelardo Belarmo ran back to his position shaking his head. The Potters made a substitution. Alfonso Osorio replaced Endre Ábrahám. After a defensive mix-up in ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's zone, Victor Nedell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ramiro Gizon came out of the goal and Victor Nedell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Diego Gentil in the 89th minute of play forced ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's goalkeeper Ramiro Gizon to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gerhardt Ryer's late challenge caught a ₡ösᴛᴀ ᴆᴇ ₿ᴀʀᴙɪĿ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
