Giraldo Laiseca was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. 22 minutes into the match, CERRO PORTEÑO's goal looked a bit too open when Simamane LuaLua came free, but Giraldo Laiseca reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Giraldo Laiseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hudson Abreu in the 23rd minute of play. In the 29th minute Astor Sobrido shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan da Fonseca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Frederico Mattos hit a great freekick 29 minutes into the match. Giraldo Laiseca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simamane LuaLua in the 36th minute of play. CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE's Jonathan da Fonseca played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Astor Sobrido in the 38th minute of play. In the 39th minute Hudson Abreu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giraldo Laiseca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

After 51 minutes, Clemente Prestes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CAMPINAS FUTEBOL CLUBE and the CERRO PORTEÑO players grew even worse after the yellow card. Jonathan da Fonseca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guillelme Andujar in the 59th minute of the match. Giraldo Laiseca showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hudson Abreu, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. 63 minutes into the match, CERRO PORTEÑO's goalkeeper Giraldo Laiseca had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Mazen Vella Bonavita.
