La Pantera Azulgrana's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Grant Verga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. In the 17th minute Emanuel Corti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Justo Karmel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Corti in the 19th minute of play forced La Pantera Azulgrana's goalkeeper Justo Karmel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Justo Karmel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Emanuel Corti in the 20th minute of the match. Emanuel Corti struck a weak shot in the 21st minute. Justo Karmel didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Papato Tatengue. Emanuel Corti fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Justo Karmel having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuel Corti in the 35th minute of play forced La Pantera Azulgrana's goalkeeper Justo Karmel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Domingo Johans made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sixto Baldovino in the 36th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Emanuel Corti managed to get in a good position for a shot. Papato Tatengue's supporters rose to their feet, but Emanuel Corti was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Justo Karmel breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Grant Verga in the 40th minute of play forced La Pantera Azulgrana's goalkeeper Justo Karmel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Grant Verga kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
After a rather tough play, La Pantera Azulgrana's Marcelino Herena got a free kick in the 50th minute. Emanuel Corti received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Justo Karmel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Emanuel Cortis short, quick shot in the 55thth minute got Justo Karmel to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sixto Baldovino in the 57th minute of play forced Papato Tatengue's goalkeeper Domingo Johans to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 59th minute, Camilo Azubeli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Emanuel Corti's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Justo Karmel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. If Emanuel Corti had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 66th minute Emanuel Corti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Justo Karmel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Emanuel Corti came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Papato Tatengue fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emanuel Corti couldn't finish the play. Justo Karmel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Corti in the 82nd minute of play. Sixto Baldovino's late challenge caught a Papato Tatengue's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sixto Baldovino helped the player get up and apologised. Sixto Baldovino kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. Papato Tatengue's Emanuel Corti got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Emanuel Corti blasted a shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Justo Karmel having to make a save. 92 minutes into the match, La Pantera Azulgrana's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Corti came free, but Justo Karmel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Carlos Saúl Menem was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 94th minute. Papato Tatengue's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Through an outstanding action, after 94 minutes, Justo Karmel successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 95th minute, Emanuel Corti got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Papato Tatengue's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
