Seating: 1727, VIP seats: 150) Unicorns ™'s Tudor Bodea started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 4thth minute of the game Rareș Papadima who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC U Cluj-N's Tiberiu Udrescu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Unicorns ™'s Tudor Bodea in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye FC U Cluj-N's goalie prevented a goal. 11 minutes into the match, Rareș Papadima notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of FC U Cluj-N's Tiberiu Udrescu. Tiberiu Udrescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Tiberiu Udrescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rareș Papadima in the 14th minute of play. Unicorns ™'s Corneliu Vulpăşin played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Romeo Ţăranu in the 19th minute of play. FC U Cluj-N's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Placido Santxol in the 21st minute. 22 minutes had been played when some careless play by Unicorns ™'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Placido Santxol was slow to take the kick. During this time FC U Cluj-N's players had a chance to rest. The corner led to FC U Cluj-N's Avram Bungeanu getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. The supporters of Unicorns ™ booed when FC U Cluj-N was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Buculeasa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tiberiu Udrescu made a fantastic save in the 26th minute, when Tudor Bodea sent off a good shot on target. Calistrat Mihalcea fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiberiu Udrescu having to interfere. With a little luck, FC U Cluj-N's Tiberiu Udrescu got control of the ball when Petrică Ţirpescu tried to sneak it across the goal line. Unicorns ™'s attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Aurel Huștiu in the 37th minute. The corner led Unicorns ™'s Aurel Huștiu to fire away a dangerous shot which Tiberiu Udrescu despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The supporters of FC U Cluj-N booed when Unicorns ™ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mugur Siniştean didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 42ndth minute of the game Tudor Bodea who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC U Cluj-N's Tiberiu Udrescu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to FC U Cluj-N getting a freekick after 46 minutes play. Avram Bungeanu hit a great ball. In the 47th minute of the match Aurel Huștiu sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Tiberiu Udrescu skillfully saved the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Romeo Ţăranu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If Alex Buculeasa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rareș Papadima in the 60th minute of play forced FC U Cluj-N's goalkeeper Tiberiu Udrescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tiberiu Udrescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rareș Papadima, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. Tudor Bodea's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Tiberiu Udrescu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 64th minute of play. 64 minutes into the match, Tudor Bodea notched a goal, 2-0, to the right of FC U Cluj-N's Tiberiu Udrescu. Tiberiu Udrescu was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After some fancy dribbling in the 68th minute, Edgar Sabău managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC U Cluj-N's supporters rose to their feet, but Edgar Sabău was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Corneliu Vulpăşin breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Calistrat Mihalcea hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Corneliu Vulpăşin made a fantastic save in the 70th minute, when Edgar Sabău sent off a good shot on target. If Edgar Sabău had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a little luck, Unicorns ™'s Corneliu Vulpăşin got control of the ball when Edgar Sabău tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 82nd minute, FC U Cluj-N's Avram Bungeanu seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Avram Bungeanu the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of FC U Cluj-N protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Avram Bungeanu had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 81st minute of the game. One of FC U Cluj-N:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Unicorns ™:s goal. Aurel Huștiu shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. 85 minutes into the game, Unicorns ™'s Tudor Bodea nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tiberiu Udrescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Tiberiu Udrescu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Petrică Ţirpescu, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. 93 minutes into the match, Unicorns ™'s goalkeeper Corneliu Vulpăşin had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Romeo Ţăranu. Calistrat Mihalcea charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Calistrat Mihalcea the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 96th match minute, Unicorns ™ was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Calistrat Mihalcea to maneuver through the defense. For all the effort they put into the match, the FC U Cluj-N players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Unicorns ™.
