But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Simon Brun couldn't finish the play. Roy Maciver kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Seagulls's goal looked a bit too open when Simon Brun came free, but Jan-Joost Smeekes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 14th minute Carsten Klaasens shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sandrinho Veiga saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Seagulls's Jan-Joost Smeekes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Simon Brun in the 18th minute of play. When the match clock showed 21 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Simon Brun sped through Seagulls's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jan-Joost Smeekes. After 25 minutes, Simon Brun made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Seagulls's Jan-Joost Smeekes tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Simon Brun blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jan-Joost Smeekes having to make a save. Jan-Joost Smeekes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Simon Brun in the 29th minute of play. 42 minutes into the game, Rogier Veninga threw the ball into play from the sideline. Fast layne Fc's Sakis Mathioudakis quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Simon Brun received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Jan-Joost Smeekes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

After 53 played minutes Seagulls got a freekick which was hit by Stef Pragt. 56 minutes into the match, Seagulls's goalkeeper Jan-Joost Smeekes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Simon Brun. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Simon Brun in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jan-Joost Smeekes saved Seagulls from getting behind. 61 minutes into the match, Simon Brun dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Jan-Joost Smeekes, 0-3. Simon Brun came free with the goalkeeper in the 64th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Jan-Joost Smeekes could save by the left post. Simon Brun blasted a shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jan-Joost Smeekes having to make a save. 70 minutes into the match, Simon Brun notched a goal, 0-4, to the right of Seagulls's Jan-Joost Smeekes. Jan-Joost Smeekes was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 78 minutes into the match, Seagulls's goalkeeper Jan-Joost Smeekes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Simon Brun. The supporters of Seagulls booed when Fast layne Fc was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jorge Mangueira didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 81 played minutes Seagulls got a freekick which was hit by Rogier Veninga. Fast layne Fc's Gildo Albuquerque was substituted for Roy Maciver. Rogier Veninga didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Luisinho Aguiar kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Jan-Joost Smeekes. In the 92nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Seagulls's goalkeeper Jan-Joost Smeekes, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. When the match was over Fast layne Fc could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Seagulls throughout the match.
