In the 21stth minute of the game 周烽宁 who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Remedios SC's Jean dos Santos was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 冰谷 姚明 made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Danilo Pinho in the 23rd minute of play. A collision led to 拜耳04勒沃库森 getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. 贺奕晨 hit a great ball. Válter Fantini sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that 周烽宁's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jean dos Santos was relentless in the 34th minute of the game. 35 minutes into the game, Wincent Wawro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Remedios SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave 拜耳04勒沃库森 the free kick. After 35 played minutes Remedios SC got a freekick which was hit by Wincent Wawro. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Amílton Sergipano during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Remedios SC's Amílton Sergipano got a free kick in the 51st minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by 贺奕晨 in the 52nd minute of play forced Remedios SC's goalkeeper Jean dos Santos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If 郭朗俊 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jean dos Santos stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of 周烽宁's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. 拜耳04勒沃库森 were awarded a corner in the 72th minute after Remedios SC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. 贺奕晨 took the corner. In the 73rd minute, Zé Augusto Sena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 周烽宁s short, quick shot in the 74thth minute got Jean dos Santos to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 冰谷 姚明 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Danilo Pinho, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. 81 minutes into the match, Danilo Pinho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of 冰谷 姚明. 拜耳04勒沃库森's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Danilo Pinho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. 拜耳04勒沃库森's 麦建浩 was substituted for 周烽宁. A collision led to Remedios SC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Belchior Mamala hit a great ball. 贺奕晨 kicked well hit freekick during the 90th minute of the match. In the 94th minute, 拜耳04勒沃库森's 麦建浩 ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jean dos Santos. Jean dos Santos yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Many of 拜耳04勒沃库森's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. 拜耳04勒沃库森 may have spent more time on the ball, but Remedios SC were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
