Miau Stars's Sidney Queirós played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Artun Şenyurt in the 14th minute of play. When Nildo Ribeiro fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Miau Stars's protests and gave Nildo Ribeiro a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Blue Mountain State booed when Miau Stars was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nildo Ribeiro didn't get a good kick on the ball. Uğurcan Tanören kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Blue Mountain State's Sidney Queirós threw himself towards the right post 27 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Uğurcan Tanören, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Sidney Queirós made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ricardo Kaká in the 28th minute. After 29 minutes Miau Stars's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Uğurcan Tanören who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Blue Mountain State's corner Uğurcan Tanören fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Sidney Queirós quite easily take care of the ball. Valdir Lopez hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After 33 played minutes Blue Mountain State got a freekick which was hit by Fikri Kutsalmis. When Nilson Soares came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Miau Stars fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nilson Soares couldn't finish the play. Sidney Queirós made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ricardo Kaká in the 40th minute of play. Muhsin Taze might have been able to make a better finish in the 45th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Sidney Queirós. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Muhsin Taze ran back to his position shaking his head. Artun Şenyurt struck a weak shot in the 47th minute. Sidney Queirós didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Blue Mountain State. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

In the 51st minute Artun Şenyurt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sidney Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Sidney Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Muhsin Taze, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Blue Mountain State's Uğurcan Tanören suffered a sore knee after 55 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Antônio Carlos Mello charged in rather forcefully in the 55th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Antônio Carlos Mello the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Blue Mountain State made a substitution. Ensar Uyguralp replaced Uğurcan Tanören. A collision led to Miau Stars getting a freekick after 57 minutes play. Antônio Carlos Mello hit a great ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Maria Socorro kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Yalçın Olgunay. That made the score 0-1 in the 59 minute of play. Sidney Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ricardo Kaká, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 70thth minute of the game Ricardo Kaká who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Miau Stars's Sidney Queirós was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 76 minutes into the game, Gildo Dracena recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Yalçın Olgunay. Gildo Dracena showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Sidney Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Artun Şenyurt, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. Sidney Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Artun Şenyurt in the 81st minute of the match. 86 minutes into the match, Muhsin Taze notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Miau Stars's Sidney Queirós. Sidney Queirós was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dinei Carioca during the 89th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dinei Carioca kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Sidney Queirós showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ricardo Kaká, who was totally free with the ball in the 93rd minute. Miau Stars were delighted with the way they had won the match. They had held their defensive line well and made the most of their chances, to claim a victory over Blue Mountain State's much stronger midfield.
