Bahadırhan Akdoğu didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 4th minute, Mevlüt Zeyrek made a precise shot to the right of Henry Lembeck. Zijdewind SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Mehmet Şefik Balcan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Henk-Jan Slot in the 8th minute of play. Mehmet Şefik Balcan took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henk-Jan Slot, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zijdewind SC's Henry Lembeck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hacı Hastimur in the 10th minute of play. In the 26th minute of the match Newells Old Boys got a corner. Zijdewind SC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Mevlüt Zeyrek ran over to the corner to take the kick. Mevlüt Zeyrek made a great header on Newells Old Boys's corner, it was just that Zijdewind SC's Henry Lembeck managed to reach the ball for a save. After 31 played minutes Zijdewind SC got a freekick which was hit by Jan Assendelft. 34 minutes into the match, Mevlüt Zeyrek notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Zijdewind SC's Henry Lembeck. Henry Lembeck was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Orçun Baloğlu made the kick off in the second half. After 52 played minutes Newells Old Boys got a freekick which was hit by Hacı Hastimur. If Mevlüt Zeyrek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Frank Gulpen kicked well hit freekick during the 60th minute of the match. In the 62nd minute, Jan Assendelft hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Frank Gulpen in the 67th minute of play forced Newells Old Boys's goalkeeper Mehmet Şefik Balcan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zijdewind SC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 68th minute, when Mevlüt Zeyrek scored to the left of an out of position Henry Lembeck, making the score, 1-5. Mehmet Şefik Balcan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ferdi Dekens in the 77th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Newells Old Boys's Orçun Baloğlu slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Henry Lembeck. That made the score 1-6 after 78 minutes of play. After 87 minutes, Melvin Woering mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Zijdewind SC and the Newells Old Boys players grew even worse after the yellow card. 94 minutes into the match, Mevlüt Zeyrek had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Henry Lembeck. Zijdewind SC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Mevlüt Zeyrek was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-7.
