Frederico França started the match with the kick off. With a little luck, Inter de Chillán's José Ignacio Rocha got control of the ball when Nicolas França tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 11th minute of the match, Frederico França tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but José Ignacio Rocha saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tadeu Britto in the 13th minute. Lothar Matthæus thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished José Ignacio Rocha, a very annoying self made goal in the 13th minute which led to 1-0. Ke Chang Lin hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Karim Bado took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Giuseppe Meazza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Giuseppe Meazza in the 20th minute of play forced Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's goalkeeper Karim Bado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. José Ignacio Rocha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frederico França, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Steve Vaid in the 23rd minute of play forced Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's goalkeeper Karim Bado to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 26th minute Steve Vaid shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Karim Bado saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Juan Luis Dittborn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Karim Bado tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 36th match minute, Inter de Chillán was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Steve Vaid to maneuver through the defense. Inter de Chillán's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Arnaldo Detmer in the 40th minute. Nicolas França's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 44thth minute, José Ignacio Rocha skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Juan Luis Dittborn stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Inter de Chillán's goal looked a bit too open when Frederico França came free, but José Ignacio Rocha reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 53rd minute, Inter de Chillán's Giuseppe Meazza dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-1. Karim Bado showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Steve Vaid, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Inter de Chillán's José Ignacio Rocha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas França in the 60th minute of play. 67 minutes into the match, Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's goalkeeper Karim Bado had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Steve Vaid. With 78 minutes on the clock, Tadeu Britto commited a dangerous tackle. The referee had no choice but to show him the red card. In the 79th minute of the match Arnaldo Detmer sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Karim Bado skillfully saved the ball. A hard and well directed shot from Arnaldo Detmer led 80 minutes into the game to a goal after the ball had bounced deceptively just in front of the goal. Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's Karim Bado became a little unsure and couldn't grip the ball before it was over the goalline. Thus it was 1-2. A collision led to Rio Verde F.C CIMZ getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Nicolas França hit a great ball. In the 87th minute, Fiori Cerezo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 87 minutes into the match, Juan Luis Alfaro notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's Karim Bado. Karim Bado was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Steve Vaid could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Karim Bado made a huge save. When the final whistle sounded Inter de Chillán left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Rio Verde F.C CIMZ.
