Saturnino Txartiko made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Donato Vachon in the 8th minute of play. The Palermo fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. When Norberto Victoro fell near the penalty area in the 11th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Academia Club's protests and gave Norberto Victoro a yellow card for diving instead. In the 16th minute Rafael Hondo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Saturnino Txartiko saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rafael Hondo scored 0-2 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Saturnino Txartiko, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 20 minutes into the match, Palermo's goal looked a bit too open when Joaquin Phelipe came free, but Enrique Lekubegi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 29 minutes into the game, Nicanor Gaufred cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-4. Saturnino Txartiko was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rafael Hondo in the 32nd minute of play forced Academia Club's goalkeeper Saturnino Txartiko to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Saturnino Txartiko came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Palermo's Rafael Hondo. But to his dismay, Rafael Hondo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joaquin Phelipe in the 39th minute of play forced Palermo's goalkeeper Enrique Lekubegi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The wind increased when Remigio Jerano made the kick off in the second half. Joaquin Phelipe took the ball and in the 54 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Enrique Lekubegi. Enrique Lekubegi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-5. 57 minutes into the match, Donato Vachon notched a goal, 1-6, to the right of Academia Club's Saturnino Txartiko. Saturnino Txartiko was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Palermo getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Javier Bazkoare hit a great ball. With a little luck, Academia Club's Saturnino Txartiko got control of the ball when Donato Vachon tried to sneak it across the goal line. Academia Club's Joaquin Phelipe got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ulises Hernandez's late challenge caught a Academia Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ulises Hernandez helped the player get up and apologised. Ulises Hernandez kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. After 84 minutes, Remigio Jerano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Academia Club and the Palermo players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 84th match minute, Academia Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Remigio Jerano to maneuver through the defense. 88 minutes into the match, Academia Club's goal looked a bit too open when Rafael Hondo came free, but Saturnino Txartiko reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match was over Palermo could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Academia Club throughout the match.
