The Palermo fans' excitement grew in the 16th match minute when Palermo's Donato Vachon looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Mario Klompe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Donato Vachon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nicanor Gaufred received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Mario Klompe tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 35th minute, Ulises Hernandez sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Zijdewind SC's Mario Klompe didn't even have to move. 42 minutes into the match, Palermo's goal looked a bit too open when Henk-Jan Slot came free, but Enrique Lekubegi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
