After a defensive mix-up in Creekers's zone, Arnaldo Cedro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tommie Kirkpatrick came out of the goal and Arnaldo Cedro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 42 minutes, Arnaldo Cedro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pan FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arnaldo Cedro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ezequiel Calderón to make the kick off. Juan José Van De Gucht hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. Ezequiel Calderón might have been able to make a better finish in the 53rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tommie Kirkpatrick. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gary Gamble was shown his second yellow card after 58 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Creekers's Tommie Kirkpatrick played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ezequiel Calderón in the 73rd minute of play. Ezequiel Calderón sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. If Ezequiel Calderón had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pan FC's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
