A collision led to MARTINETA getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Fabrício Bustos hit a great ball. Poli Timisoara's Thomas Schmuck played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nico Paz in the 27th minute of play. In the 76th minute Dominic Haug shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Silvestre Bertin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 77 minutes into the game, Marcelo Omero was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MARTINETA's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Poli Timisoara the free kick. After 77 played minutes MARTINETA got a freekick which was hit by Marcelo Omero. The supporters of Poli Timisoara booed when MARTINETA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 79 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabrício Bustos didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dominic Haug's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Silvestre Bertin read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. Thomas Knoppertz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched MARTINETA eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
