The throw-in from Tano Talaga in the 9th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by DARAS's Remus Ostoici. Gonzo Ivanov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 9th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 13th minute, Toni Nenchev ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. David Ospina was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. Toni Nenchev's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but David Ospina read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Atlético Bucaramanga's goalkeeper David Ospina had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Toni Nenchev. The goalkeeper, David Ospina, was totally fooled by DARAS's Toni Nenchev, who 33 minutes into the game made a penalty shot that went in on the goalkeeper's left side. After a defensive mix-up in DARAS's zone, Lugo Saavedra stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Biagio Pantano came out of the goal and Lugo Saavedra tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Atlético Bucaramanga's Ellande Aguinagalde was substituted for Tano Talaga.

Atlético Bucaramanga made a substitution. Weterio Caceo replaced Lugo Saavedra. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Sergio Quintero to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 96th minute, Paolo Rossi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Many of Atlético Bucaramanga's supporters were seen to leave the ground early as it became clear their team was going to lose. Atlético Bucaramanga may have spent more time on the ball, but DARAS were more willing to take their chances and they walked away with the win.
