The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Isaac Marcones fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 17th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Makis Efthimiadis having to interfere. In the 19th minute, Rodolfo Flores hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd minute Anthimos Farmakatos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Uriel Raymon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24th minute, Panos Tsiabras hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, GOD OF WAR's Makis Efthimiadis got control of the ball when Braulio Pierres tried to sneak it across the goal line. Benicio Danel could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 29th minute of the match, but Makis Efthimiadis made a huge save. Velez Sarsfield's Uriel Raymon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alketas Vertsotis in the 31st minute of play. Makis Efthimiadis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Braulio Pierres, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

51 minutes into the match, Isaac Marcones had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Makis Efthimiadis. GOD OF WAR's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Isaac Marcones was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. In the 55th minute, Sergio Caitano left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Velez Sarsfield fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-0. 59 minutes into the match, Velez Sarsfield's goal looked a bit too open when Alketas Vertsotis came free, but Uriel Raymon reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Makis Efthimiadis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Braulio Pierres in the 68th minute of play. Velez Sarsfield's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
