After 10 minutes, Zé Carlos França mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vista Alegre FC and the Papillon AC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 11th minute, Octavio Dodorol sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Vista Alegre FC's Pedrão Sarmento didn't even have to move. Papillon AC's Narciso Froylan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Hortêncio Senna in the 13th minute of play. Lucio Ellande kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Dráuzio de Alcântara's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Narciso Froylan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. After 21 minutes, Alexis Mac Allister mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Papillon AC and the Vista Alegre FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Zé Carlos França tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Pedrão Sarmento. An unnecessary self made goal, 0-1 in the 29th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hortêncio Senna got free with Narciso Froylan in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 36th minute Juan Fernando Quintero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pedrão Sarmento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Hortêncio Senna came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Vista Alegre FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hortêncio Senna couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Papillon AC's Lucio Ellande got a free kick in the 42nd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Hortêncio Senna managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vista Alegre FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Hortêncio Senna was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Narciso Froylan breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 47 minutes into the match, Papillon AC's goalkeeper Narciso Froylan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hortêncio Senna. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Olli-Pekka Suoste made a kick off. A hard shot 53 in the game by Olli-Pekka Suoste from a close distance when the talented Pedrão Sarmento managed to make a qualified save. Vista Alegre FC's players were relieved. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Zé Carlos França was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 69 minutes had been played. In the 70th match minute, Vista Alegre FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Zé Carlos França to maneuver through the defense. Papillon AC's Octavio Dodorol got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 76 minutes into the game, Paulo Renato Dracena was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vista Alegre FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Papillon AC the free kick. Lucio Ellande's shot from long distance in the 88th minute was not bad at all, but Vista Alegre FC's Pedrão Sarmento knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. Vista Alegre FC's Pedrão Sarmento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Juan Fernando Quintero in the 95th minute of play. The Papillon AC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Papillon AC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
