Aurelio Epifani was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 32nd minute, Dráuzio de Alcântara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience thought a goal was coming when Dave Gambini got free with Pedrão Sarmento in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Aldo Ubriaco hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 35th minute, Aldo Ubriaco fired away an extremely well hit free kick, but unfortunately the ball went just outside to the right hand side of Pedrão Sarmento. In the 37th minute of the match, Beppe Rivera tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Pedrão Sarmento saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Vista Alegre FC's Pedrão Sarmento proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 38th minute of the match, managed to save Vista Alegre FC from getting a goal against them. Aurelio Epifani showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hortêncio Senna in the 40th minute of the match. The Gladiator FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Aurelio Epifani should have stopped the shot. Diogo Bueno could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Aurelio Epifani made a huge save. Aldo Ubriaco's late challenge caught a Vista Alegre FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
