Teodosio Lain had several of the Bahía é Carnaval's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 15 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Sergio Romeri as he didn't even see the shot coming. 23 minutes into the match, Tiburones Rojos's goal looked a bit too open when Desiderio Demario came free, but Fanis Bakosis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fanis Bakosis didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Luis Iban went, in the 25th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. If Desiderio Demario had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. Fanis Bakosis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Iban in the 35th minute of the match. Tiburones Rojos's supporters rose to their feet, but Albano Luke was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sergio Romeri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The supporters of Bahía é Carnaval booed when Tiburones Rojos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Norberto Jerico didn't get a good kick on the ball.

52 minutes into the match, Luis Iban dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Fanis Bakosis, 1-2. Fanis Bakosis came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Bahía é Carnaval's Jonatan Santiago. But to his dismay, Jonatan Santiago quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Teodosio Lain in the 61st minute of play forced Bahía é Carnaval's goalkeeper Sergio Romeri to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 62nd minute, Sebastian Tello hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Prospero Jakes was slow to take the kick. During this time Bahía é Carnaval's players had a chance to rest. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Luis Iban in the 92nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Fanis Bakosis saved Tiburones Rojos from getting behind.
