Patrick Recife showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonas Veloso in the 11th minute of the match. In the 47th match minute, Gesteira was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marquinhos Schmidt to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-3 lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 86th minute, Jonas Veloso managed to get in a good position for a shot. Gesteira's supporters rose to their feet, but Jonas Veloso was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Patrick Recife breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Gesteira would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
