The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vaios Evaggelliadis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Leandro Brito in the 7th minute of the match. In the 9th minute Leandro Brito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vaios Evaggelliadis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vaios Evaggelliadis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jano Cavalcante, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 11th match minute, Montevideo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Agostinho Salgado to maneuver through the defense. Guaberto Valentine sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edmílson Schmidt hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Vaios Evaggelliadis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jano Cavalcante in the 18th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Leandro Brito in the 27th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Vaios Evaggelliadis prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 27thth minute of the game Leandro Brito who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Tacheros OFF's Vaios Evaggelliadis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Vaios Evaggelliadis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leandro Brito in the 28th minute of play. Montevideo were awarded a corner in the 30th minute after Tacheros OFF's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Laerte Paraíba took the corner. An unexpectedly hard shot by Clóvis Paraense in the 31st minute of play forced Tacheros OFF's goalkeeper Vaios Evaggelliadis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Vaios Evaggelliadis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jano Cavalcante in the 32nd minute of play. 34 minutes into the match, Jano Cavalcante had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Vaios Evaggelliadis. Tacheros OFF's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jano Cavalcante was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. 45 minutes into the match, Tacheros OFF's goal looked a bit too open when Leandro Brito came free, but Vaios Evaggelliadis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Tacheros OFF players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Montevideo were winning 0-3.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Rolando Pacorro made a kick off. Oleg Timofeev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rolando Pacorro in the 51st minute of the match. Jano Cavalcante could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Vaios Evaggelliadis made a huge save. After 55 minutes, Rafael Tabby mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Tacheros OFF and the Montevideo players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 55th minute, Rafael Tabby hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vaios Evaggelliadis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jano Cavalcante, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. A collision led to Tacheros OFF getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Rafael Tabby hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 65th minute, Jano Cavalcante managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montevideo's supporters rose to their feet, but Jano Cavalcante was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vaios Evaggelliadis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jano Cavalcante in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. The referee ignored Tacheros OFF's protests and gave Dario Valente a yellow card for diving instead. Dario Valente hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. The supporters of Montevideo booed when Tacheros OFF was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ricardo Ortzi didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Jano Cavalcante managed to get in a good position for a shot. Montevideo's supporters rose to their feet, but Jano Cavalcante was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vaios Evaggelliadis breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leandro Brito in the 76thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Vaios Evaggelliadis, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Jano Cavalcante made a well adjusted shot against goal in the 78thth minute coming free in front of the goal, but Vaios Evaggelliadis would not let the ball come through at any expense and made a nice save by the left post. In the 80th minute of the match, Clóvis Paraense tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Vaios Evaggelliadis saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. A nice corner shot did that Laerte Paraíba got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Vaios Evaggelliadis quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Zeledon Gutierrez managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tacheros OFF's supporters rose to their feet, but Zeledon Gutierrez was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Oleg Timofeev breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jano Cavalcante got free with Vaios Evaggelliadis in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 92 minutes into the match, Tacheros OFF's goalkeeper Vaios Evaggelliadis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jano Cavalcante. Rolando Pacorro's late challenge caught a Montevideo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rolando Pacorro helped the player get up and apologised. The Montevideo supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Montevideo would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
