Spectators: 7659 (Terracing: 5746, Seating: 1761, VIP seats: 152) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Harrison McCann started the match with the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Internacional Pechofrío's zone, Jano Cavalcante stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Emil Zátopek came out of the goal and Jano Cavalcante tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Emil Zátopek made an important save on a dangerous shot by Jano Cavalcante in the 8th minute. In the 11th minute, Leandro Brito got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Harrison McCann scored 0-1 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Oleg Timofeev, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jano Cavalcante fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Emil Zátopek having to interfere. The supporters of Montevideo booed when Internacional Pechofrío was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 19 match minutes in a wonderful position. Harrison McCann didn't get a good kick on the ball. Internacional Pechofrío's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Erauso Espantoso in the 23rd minute. A nice corner shot did that Erauso Espantoso got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Oleg Timofeev quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Harrison McCann took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Oleg Timofeev. Oleg Timofeev dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jano Cavalcante to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Internacional Pechofrío's Eliu Bellogin got a free kick in the 51st minute. Rómulo Gallegos kicked well hit freekick during the 52nd minute of the match. Montevideo's Laerte Paraíba got a good chance for a goal in the 53rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Oleg Timofeev showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Harrison McCann in the 59th minute of the match. A collision led to Internacional Pechofrío getting a freekick after 60 minutes play. Felo Gochicoa hit a great ball. Emil Zátopek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jano Cavalcante in the 68th minute of the match. A collision led to Montevideo getting a freekick after 70 minutes play. Anselmo Valladares hit a great ball. Emil Zátopek didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leandro Brito went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-2 was the resulting score. Montevideo's Jano Cavalcante got a good chance for a goal in the 79th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Oleg Timofeev showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Venceslao Solares, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Emil Zátopek took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Agostinho Salgado, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Internacional Pechofrío's Aldo Sandianes got a free kick in the 96th minute. After some careless play in the Internacional Pechofrío defense, Laerte Paraíba kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Emil Zátopek. The Internacional Pechofrío fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Emil Zátopek should have stopped the shot. Internacional Pechofrío succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Montevideo had controlled the match.
