In the 3rd minute, Mauricio Gartzi hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Frederico de Salles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geronimo Sagrario, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alan Gaúcho might have been able to make a better finish in the 11th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Christopher Hawthorne. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Alan Gaúcho ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 14th minute, Donato Nuxila left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Quilmes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Edgardo Ugutz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Frederico de Salles having to interfere. Barbie Doll United U23's Frederico de Salles played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edgardo Ugutz in the 20th minute of play. In the 26th minute Terry Jones shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frederico de Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Frederico de Salles didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Geronimo Sagrario went, in the 27th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. With a little luck, Quilmes's Christopher Hawthorne got control of the ball when Alan Gaúcho tried to sneak it across the goal line. Barbie Doll United U23 were awarded a corner in the 31th minute after Quilmes's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Waldemar de Godoi took the corner. After taking down the ball on Barbie Doll United U23's corner Waldemar de Godoi fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Christopher Hawthorne quite easily take care of the ball. If Tião França had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 35th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geronimo Sagrario in the 39th minute of play forced Barbie Doll United U23's goalkeeper Frederico de Salles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-4 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tião França was the one to do the kick off. 52 minutes into the game, one of Barbie Doll United U23:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. 53 minutes into the match, Donato Nuxila notched a goal, 0-5, to the right of Barbie Doll United U23's Frederico de Salles. Frederico de Salles was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Carlinhos da Costa hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Geronimo Sagrario in the 63rd minute of play forced Barbie Doll United U23's goalkeeper Frederico de Salles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Frederico de Salles took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Geronimo Sagrario, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Frederico de Salles showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geronimo Sagrario, who was totally free with the ball in the 71st minute. Frederico de Salles came out of the goal in the 76th minute to try and stop a shot by Quilmes's Geronimo Sagrario. But to his dismay, Geronimo Sagrario quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-6. Quilmes made a substitution. Rodrigo Delfino replaced Geronimo Sagrario. After 85 minutes Barbie Doll United U23's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Donato Nuxila who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Quilmes's Donato Nuxila to fire away a dangerous shot which Frederico de Salles despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 88th minute Edgardo Ugutz shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Frederico de Salles saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Rodrigo Delfino came up free with the goalie in the 89th minute, the Quilmes fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rodrigo Delfino couldn't finish the play. In the 91st minute, Rodrigo Delfino left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Quilmes fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. With an all-out effort, Quilmes's Frederico de Salles threw himself towards the right post 95 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Mauricio Gartzi, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. 96 minutes into the match, Terry Jones dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Frederico de Salles, 0-8.
