Joe Oberto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Iain Ely in the 24th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Clapham Comets F.C.'s Brad Symons slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Joe Oberto. That made the score 2-0 after 25 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, Buenaventura FC's André-Pierre Gignac got a free kick in the 31st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Donny Watson got free with Joe Oberto in the 33rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 35 minutes into the match, Barrie Newell had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Joe Oberto. Buenaventura FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Barrie Newell was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-0. Joe Oberto came out of the goal in the 38th minute to try and stop a shot by Clapham Comets F.C.'s Brad Symons. But to his dismay, Brad Symons quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0. With a little luck, Buenaventura FC's Joe Oberto got control of the ball when Barrie Newell tried to sneak it across the goal line. Buenaventura FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 44th minute, when Barrie Newell scored to the left of an out of position Joe Oberto, making the score, 5-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.

The wind increased when André-Pierre Gignac made the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Cheito Brandao hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Iain Ely recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Buenaventura FC defense, Brad Symons kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Joe Oberto. The Buenaventura FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Joe Oberto should have stopped the shot. 63 minutes into the game, Clapham Comets F.C.'s Barrie Newell nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Joe Oberto made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. Joe Oberto came out of the goal in the 66th minute to try and stop a shot by Clapham Comets F.C.'s Brad Symons. But to his dismay, Brad Symons quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 8-0. Joe Oberto came out of the goal in the 71st minute to try and stop a shot by Clapham Comets F.C.'s Barrie Newell. But to his dismay, Barrie Newell quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 9-0. 74 minutes into the match, Buenaventura FC's goal looked a bit too open when Barrie Newell came free, but Joe Oberto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Buenaventura FC booed when Clapham Comets F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Donny Watson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Joe Oberto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Brad Symons in the 94th minute of play. If Iain Ely had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Clapham Comets F.C.'s fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
