In the 13th match minute, Phoenix Strikers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Horaţiu Dinulescu to maneuver through the defense. 14 minutes into the match, Phoenix Strikers's goal looked a bit too open when 龙钢超 came free, but Ionel Panaitoiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 龙枫博 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Denis Brânzaș, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 龙钢超 recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With his leg 龙枫博 managed to avoid a goal in the 22ndth minute, when Phoenix Strikers's Horaţiu Dinulescu fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. 龙钢超's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ionel Panaitoiu read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 24th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Cylon's goalkeeper 龙枫博 had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Denis Brânzaș. The supporters of Phoenix Strikers booed when Cylon was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. 尹桑文 didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute, 龙钢超 got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 龙钢超 blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ionel Panaitoiu having to make a save. If Anton Păun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A throw-in in the 43rd minute of the game was made by Marin Pietreanu with Anton Păun as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. An unexpectedly hard shot by 龙钢超 in the 45th minute of play forced Phoenix Strikers's goalkeeper Ionel Panaitoiu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Horaţiu Dinulescu to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, 尹桑文 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 58 minutes into the match, Phoenix Strikers's goal looked a bit too open when 龙钢超 came free, but Ionel Panaitoiu reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ionel Panaitoiu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from 龙钢超 in the 62nd minute of the match. 63 minutes into the game, Cazimir Ceaușu was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Phoenix Strikers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cylon the free kick. In the 63rd match minute, Phoenix Strikers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cazimir Ceaușu to maneuver through the defense. Cylon's 叶建超 was substituted for 傅志骏. Cylon made a substitution. 庄志政 replaced 庞桦景. After 65 played minutes Phoenix Strikers got a freekick which was hit by Cazimir Ceaușu. Anton Păun sent away a hard shot on goal in the 67th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. A collision led to Phoenix Strikers getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Cazimir Ceaușu hit a great ball. In the 75th match minute, Cylon was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by 姚广邦 to maneuver through the defense. Cylon were furious when 温枫远 was red carded, 76 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 76th minute of the game. One of Cylon:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Phoenix Strikers:s goal. The referee gave Phoenix Strikers a penalty, 78 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Ioan Cozma, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Cylon's 龙枫博. 1-0. When Horaţiu Dinulescu fell near the penalty area in the 82nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Phoenix Strikers's protests and gave Horaţiu Dinulescu a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Phoenix Strikers getting a freekick after 83 minutes play. Horaţiu Dinulescu hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers 龙钢超 in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ionel Panaitoiu saved Phoenix Strikers from getting behind. After 88 minutes of play, Cylon's 龙钢超 made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ionel Panaitoiu was left in no man's land by his defense there! Phoenix Strikers's Ionel Panaitoiu proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Phoenix Strikers from getting a goal against them. 龙钢超 struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Ionel Panaitoiu didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cylon. 100 minutes had been played when some careless play by Phoenix Strikers's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. 庄志政 was slow to take the kick. During this time Cylon's players had a chance to rest. 庄志政 made a great header on Cylon's corner, it was just that Phoenix Strikers's Ionel Panaitoiu managed to reach the ball for a save. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
